Just beyond the great carved-fir archway that marks the hotel’s main entryway and its private parking area, one’s eye is immediately caught by the spacious wood terraces enlivened by thousands of geraniums, its steep roof interrupted by traditional dormer windows. The building marries perfectly into its alpine landscape, its architecture faithful to the rural canons of the area, which call for simple, linear houses, often with multi-tiered balconies.
 The extensive garden and the solarium will communicate very quickly the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity that characterise our area and our establishment.
One level down from the ground floor, in addition to the workrooms and service areas, are a garage with a workshop for bicycle and motorcycle maintenance, ski room, equipment storage, the wine cellar, as well as the new Fitness and Well-being Centre, which boasts the most up-to-date exercise equipment, water treatment area with hydromassage pool, Turkish bath, immersion pool, Finnish sauna, UVA showers, and a separate section dedicated to beauty and health treatments, ranging from hay baths to the most sophisticated massage techniques.
Welcoming you as you enter will be the Polo family, hoteliers for three generations, who opened this hotel in 1953. The mezzanine offers services at the disposition of the guests: a reception hall; kitchen with dining rooms; a sitting room for day use with comfortable sofas; meeting room; a room with TV, broadband wi-fi Internet, and audio-visual equipment; a play area for children; a snug room with the fogolar, the traditional Friulan open fireplace; and, not least, a bar open all day and until late in the evening. And we remind you that our establishment is an officially-designated Bike-Hotel.

In the summertime, Ravascletto is nothing but verdant meadows and forests, relaxing strolls and long hikes. In spring, wildflowers and wild herbs enliven the surrounding green, while in autumn the astounding bounty of colours amazes guests, the rich, natural fragrances of the mushrooms enriches the pleasures of our table, and one of the malghe, or mountainside dairy farms, will offer tastings of exquisite ricottas and cheeses. In winter the fascination of the snow is irresistible: just outside the hotel, only 150 metres away, are the ski lifts and runs, so the temptation to spend a day in the snow is usually too strong to resist. Every season, then, provides ample opportunities for unforgettable vacations amidst pristine, natural environments and ancient traditions.
At dusk, the lights in our garden invite our guests for a pre-dinner aperitif, then dinner itself will provide a rich opportunity to savour dishes representing our rich local gastronomic traditions, all beautifully presented. To end the day, there is nothing better than to gather around the classic Friulan fogolar, and, seated around the fire, enjoy together a good glass of wine or Friuli grappa, while listening to long-told local tales of mischievous sprites and dancing fairies, until invaded by a welcome, magical drowsiness. |
