Skiing
During the winter season, the skiing district of Ravascletto – Zoncolan – is the ideal place for Alpine skiing. The ski area offers countless ski-lifts and downhill runs. It has over 30 km of ski runs at various levels of difficulty, beginning with the 950 m altitude of Ravascletto to the 2000 m of Mount Tamai, making this area perfect for beginners and expert skiers alike. A rapid cable car takes skiers up to the peak where the runs start. Hotel La Perla sits on the valley floor and can be reached by skiing down either the Lavèt or Canalone run.
There are numerous benefits offered to the tourists who choose to stay at our resort. First, the ski runs largely face east, which means they ensure skiing under the best sun and snow conditions. The altitudes are never very high, therefore the mountain can be enjoyed in temperatures that are ideal for children too. The powdery snow is present throughout the whole season, from December to April, and is guaranteed by an extensive artificial snow making system that covers 100% of the ski runs. The mountain huts and lodges are well supplied and positioned along all the slopes, making the offer on snow complete.
The Zoncolan, with its historic Tamai (Tamai 1, 2, 3) and Zoncolan (Zoncolan 1, 2, 3, 4) ski runs, also welcomes snowboarders at the Freestyle Arvenis Arena. The moving walkway for beginners and the illuminated bob/luge areas are placed in strategic points. Recently, ski runs and services for alpine skiers were built for use at night. Carnia offers much more than alpine skiing, however; fans of Nordic or cross-country skiing can take advantage of fine ski ring trails at nearby sites such as the Laghetti di Timau , small lakes located just a few kilometres away, Pradibosco and the Piani di Luzza Biathlon centre.
A few steps from Hotel La Perla, you will find a handy equipment rental, that offers excellent service, and the Carnia Ski School, with qualified instructors who are specialised in the various sports.
